Blueprint for Womanhood (BFW): A Rites of Passage Program
Life Paradigms, Inc. presents Blueprint for Womanhood, a 12-week Rites of Passage program guiding Black girls, ages 13–17, in defining their reality and creating a blueprint for their lives. Entering its 31st year, the program emphasizes cultural, mental, emotional, and spiritual development, preparing our girls for a confident transition into womanhood.
Program Overview
Created by Fatimah Halim, Executive Director & Founder, BFW offers culture- and gender-specific curricula that address the challenges our girls face today. Black women professionals volunteer their time and expertise as instructors, leading workshops that help our girls grow, gain confidence, and develop leadership skills in areas such as:

The program fosters leadership, personal growth, and community engagement, inspiring participants to contribute meaningfully to their communities while building a strong foundation for future success.

Growing Together: What We Ask of Our Girls
Our girls are encouraged to fully engage in every part of Blueprint for Womanhood—from classes and mentorship to community service initiatives—within a safe, inclusive space that nurtures their critical thinking, emotional intelligence, and leadership skills.
Tuition Options
We offer multiple tuition tiers to keep the program accessible, sustainable, and reflective of our community values. Every family contributes, and every contribution helps us continue building life-changing opportunities for our girls.
Sustainer Rate: For families who are able to invest a little extra to strengthen the program and expand opportunities for all participants.
Standard Rate: Covers the true cost of the program; most families choose this option. Payment options available.
Legacy Rate: For families enrolling more than one daughter, allowing sisters to share the experience while keeping participation accessible. Payment options available.
Supported & Community Rates: Reserved for families who need reduced tuition, ensuring no girl is turned away.
